Terms of Service

These terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of LocalEdge, a competitive-intelligence service for local businesses provided by LocalEdge (“LocalEdge,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Who can use LocalEdge

You must be at least 18 years old and, if signing up on behalf of a business, authorized to bind that business to these Terms. LocalEdge is built for legitimate local-business owners and authorized staff. Don't create accounts for businesses you don't represent.

What LocalEdge does

LocalEdge pulls publicly available review and rating data from Google via the Google Places API, tracks changes over time for your business and (on Pro) up to ten competitors, and sends you weekly reports and instant alerts when thresholds are crossed. We do not access your Google account, and we do not write, post, or remove reviews on your behalf.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at hello@localedgeapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access. One account per business. You must provide accurate information during signup and keep it up to date.

Free trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full Pro features. No credit card is required to start. On day ten we send a reminder. On day fourteen, if you haven't added a payment method, your account pauses — your data is retained but monitoring stops until you choose a plan.

Paid subscriptions

LocalEdge offers two plans: Starter at $49/month and Pro at $89/month. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless you cancel. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes, which will be added where required. We reserve the right to change prices; existing subscribers will receive at least thirty days' notice of any increase.

Billing and refunds

Billing is processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details. Charges occur on the same day each month.

Refund policy. Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel mid-cycle, you retain access through the end of the paid period, and you will not be billed again. Failed payments will pause the account until resolved. We may offer refunds at our sole discretion in cases of billing error or service outage.

Cancellation

You can cancel any time from Settings, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted unless you reactivate.

Acceptable use

Don't: (a) resell, sublicense, or redistribute LocalEdge data; (b) use the service to harass a competitor or submit fake reviews anywhere; (c) attempt to circumvent rate limits, security, or authentication; (d) reverse-engineer or scrape the service; (e) use the service for anything illegal. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

Third-party data

LocalEdge displays data from Google's public Places API. We don't control, guarantee, or verify the accuracy of Google's data, and Google may change, restrict, or remove access to that data at any time. LocalEdge isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.

Communications

By signing up, you agree to receive transactional emails (welcome, weekly reports, billing notices, trial reminders, security notices). Weekly reports can be paused from the unsubscribe link in any report without canceling your account. If you enable SMS alerts, you're consenting to receive automated texts at the phone number you provide; reply STOP to any message to opt out. Message and data rates may apply.

Intellectual property

LocalEdge, the LocalEdge mark, and all related software, reports, dashboards, and copy remain the property of LocalEdge. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your business while your subscription is active. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation.

Warranty disclaimer

LocalEdge is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alerts will reach you instantly. Local-search outcomes depend on many factors outside LocalEdge.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, LocalEdge's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost business, or lost data — even if advised of the possibility.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold LocalEdge harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll email account holders at least thirty days before it takes effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the update. Non-material updates (typos, clarifications) may take effect immediately.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved by binding arbitration in California under the rules of JAMS, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for claims involving intellectual property. You and LocalEdge each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
